Reasonably priced gearing

Right, am building up my All Mountain rig and in terms of drive train, I already have LX shifters/Front Mech/XT chainset
I have always used Shimano but wanted to try out SRAM on this build but didn't want to spend an absolute fortune on gearing for this bike.
I have been searching for X9 triggers and Rear Mech but they don't seem that cheap where I am looking..... I then turned my attention to X7..
However, would this be just the same comparatively as have LX through and through....
I can buy an OE LX rear mech for £23. Which would complete my drive train.
I have full 07 XTR on my Marin (apart from the crank= 06) and to be honest I am really disappointed with it, it's indexed properly (have had it serviced as well) but just doesn't seem worth the money - in fact I found my LX/XT combo shifted better.....
That's why I really fancied SRAM this time.....
So should I just stick to the LX I have or go for X7?

I'd stick with LX - its definitely the more durable.0

Thanks Supersonic,
Was finding it hard to justify spending more money when the LX/XT stuff I have has only been used 4 times...
One question, if it were you, would you go for an XT or LX rear derailliuer with my setup? I need whatever is on there to be durable..
Secondly, would my XT crank set be OK for all mountain abuse, or would I be better off with a Hone?
They (Hone) are going quite cheap at the moment!0 -
XT and Hone are quite similar anyway. XT is lighter than LX, and slightly better made. Both good mechs.0

Cheers, I'll use the XT chainset and order the LX mech for 23 squid (saved me a few bob!)
