Sat 18th Aug. Lake District, Tour of Coniston Water
Doing the Parkamoor & Tilberthwaite route from the VG book, 40kms and 1284m of ascent circumnavigating Coniston water this Saturday with the ride the lakes bunch, wondered if any others want to join us?
Rather than do the route exactly as is and finishing with a climb(!) we're planning on starting somewhere near or close to Coniston.
Route is;
Coniston north to Hodge Close, Tarn Hows, Grizedale (maybe pop off route to the VC for lunch?) back to Parkamoor to High Nibthwaite, Coulter Stone, Torver then up Old Man and down Walna Scar road to return.
It'll be a full day (5 hours ish) in the saddle so seasoned mtb-ers only (no beginners this time please).
Anyone else fancy it?
