Quick tip i've read somewhere and tried it myself.

Got some rust somewhere on ya bike, apply coke to the rusted area, the phosporic acid in the coke eats away the rust!

Vinegar is good too, especially for loosening rusted bolts. A bit smelly though.

I wonder if Irn Bru works

  • a similar thing to cake and rust, if you have alloy wheels on your car, wash them with a cloth that has been soaked in lemonade, any chep tesco value will do, and it brings out the original shine in the wheel, this might work on bike hubs and spokes aswell, i have never tried
Please e-mail me if you know any good trails and jumps around the,

Going back to the Coke - rust thing...

If the screws that hold my brake calipers have rusty hex sockets, will dropping a small amount of coke into the screw head clear the rest thats in them?

I guess after washing the bike the water sits in the screw heads and corrodes them.
