HELP! Insurance Claim Against Own Father!!

Right bear with me here...
Last night whilst driving home I was hit by a woman opening their car door. Broken headlights, split bumper, wheel arch and some scrapes. After getting out of car to check if she was OK (it was a close shave for her!) I discovered it was my sister! She is insured 3rd party under my dad's insurance. Spoke to my dad and to cut a long story short we're going to go through the insurance companies.
Now, here's the thing.
Last July I picked up 2 speeding penalties. I phoned my Insurers to inform them in case there were any implications, but when they asked for the exact dates, not having the paperwork at hand, I could only tell them that it was during the last week of July. They told me they would make a note of it on their system but I would need to call back with the exact dates when I had the info at hand. I never did remember to call them back. (idiot)
Now, with reference to the above accident, will my insurance now be void, as they could say that technically I haven't fully informed them of the speeding fines? My sister has accepted the blame for the accident and the claim will go through my dad's policy, so will my speeding fines actually matter if it's not my insurers forking out?
A friend told me to ring up my insurers today and give them the exact dates of my speeding tickets, and then call a couple of days later and pretend the accident happened AFTER I informed them of the fines. Or say that I posted a photocopy of my endorsed license some time ago and act shocked that they say it never arrived! Sounds iffy to me!
Am I completey f*cked here..?

I'd have thought that they'd have contacted you to tell you if they were cancelling your policy? But just ring them and tell them the dates. But again, I'd have thought that even if your policy has been cancelled by them, that shouldn't matter as it's not your insurance company thats having to pay for the damages.
The only way to know for sure is phone up.0 -
Thanks Dan - so my options are basically:
• Phone up, come clean and accept consequences
• Phone up with ref to the accident but don't mention the speeding tickets, then see how it pans out
• Phone up and give them the speeding ticket dates then be sneaky, pretend the accident happened later than it did, then phone up all innocent like
Last one sounds risky to me!0 -
Phone up, tell them you sent a photocopy of the licence act shocked that they haven't got it.
You told them you have points, dont really see to many problems. Reminds me, must tell my insurer about my 3 points..............0 -
ring up, say you had family circumstances and in the middle of that you forgot to sort the paperwork out, you've now been reminded of it by the incident thats just happened. My signature was stolen by a moose
that will be all

Phoned yesterday and told them that as the 3rd party had admitted liabilty, I will be claiming direct through their insurers and therefore not using them. They seemed happy with that.
Thanks for all your help guys!0 -
Whilst this had a happy ending can I just point out that providing false dates of claims and such like is classed as fraud!
Unlikely to get you imprisioned but could result in your policy being voided and you having no cover.
You then try to go elsewhere and no-one will touch you unless you dish out a massive amount in premiums.
Glad you got this sorted though. The trail is long and my legs are burning but I can't stop smiling.0 -
