i'm running UST tyres on a UST wheel, do i need sealant in there for puncture protection or is the tyre designed to seal automatically (like when you get a nail in a car tyre)

It is designed to be used without sealant, though some still use it.

I think most people use sealant (me inc), the tyres are less prone to flats but it does still happen and then you have to put a tube in if your not using sealant (depending on how big a hole) or start pushing.

Try mtbr reviews here; http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Tire/product_126378.shtml I've got the Michelin XCR Xtrem but haven't put it on yet - it gets poor reviews

Just wondering why you would want the Dry2 in winter (or our non-existant summer come to think of it) ?

They're only designed to be used without sealant in that they don't require it for an initial seal (non UST tyres aren't even airtight and so require sealant washed around their inners just to hold air).

However, UST tyres have nothing magic to re-seal a puncture and that's why most people put sealant in them.
