I have been meaning to complain to Portsmouth CC re the cycle lanes on Twyford Ave and Stamshaw Rd. They have on recently been put in and they are ludicrous. Today on my way home from work i went down Stamshaw road and low and behold they have started to paint a new wider straighter cycle lane on the road.

Someone has obviously complained to the council and amazingly they have lestened. The new course of the cycle lane looks a lot better but i dont know if I will start using it now, it is a very narrow road with parking on both sides at the bottom towards Rudmore roundabout so unfortunately this cycle lane will not make cycling any safer.

Incidentally this is the third time the cycle lane has been altered since it was put in, which was less than a year ago.

I was happy chap after seeing this until i was on my street and some chap pulled out of a parking space straight into me. hitting my left leg, luckily i still have fast reflexes and snatched the bike across the road and stamped on the peddles to get clear out of his area. I gave him a very long hard stair and am ashamed to admit i did give him the finger. He waved back which i found very calming and reassuring putting me pack in a nice fluffy mood, not! Didn't get his number but do know it scared the shit out of the WVM that was aggressively following me but then he had to slam on the brakes to avoid plowing into the car.
