"Bullhorn" Type Handlebars - Where From?

I'm looking to buy a new bike (possibly a fixed gear bike like a Specialized Langster) but don't really want dropped bars as I rarely use the drops. I am contemplating adding bullhorn or courier type bars like on the Charge Plug. Does anyone know where I could buy bars like that (possibly in silver rather than black) without breaking the bank on something designed for triathlons costing £70+?

You'll hear about him ever'where you go.

  • Nitto do a "moustache" and "bullhorn" bars that you might like. try http://www.hubjub.co.uk/nitto/nitto.htm . V sensible prices. Personally, I am looking for a nice black version for my black pista. if you find any, let me know!

there are a loads on the market!

I have just bought - last week in fact - a specialized langster and am considering (already) putting a set of bars on it. Ribble have a selection of aero bars from £19.95 - see here:

also - wiggle have them from £24.95 - see here:

so plenty of choice really. You could use the std brake levers that come with it, mounted upside down or better still get a cheap set of aero levers and thread the cable through the bar itself.

I like the 'Bull' model bars. I'm thinking of a Langster London and think that these bars could be used with the MTB style brake levers on that bike. That'd make it similar to the Charge Plug but give me the ability to add a bottle cage.

    HI there.

    Flip & chop for free!

Take the existing bars, remove the brake levers, unclamp the bars, flip them round 180 degrees, turn them upside down, then chop off the (now upturned) drop sections with a hacksaw.

You'll then need aero brake levers (or lever if you just want to run one brake), as the traditional ones don't sit right on bullhorns. You can easily pick these up for under £20. e.g. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.a ... 5360021705

I've run my fixed like this for the last 3 winters - no probs. I use drop bars for racing in the summer months).

    Cheers, Andy
