Going to be stateside in a few weeks and fancy some exchange-rate sweetened goodies, can anyone recommend a good bike shop in New York please?

thanks

R&A Cycles, it's just over in Brooklyn. Ultimately you can buy anything these days over the internet, they've not got much unique but with $2 to the pound, you can find some bargains over there.

Thanks. I just fancy mooching around and seeing what catches my eye. maybe some shoes which are not good to get without trying on.

I live in the US right now (I'm from Herefordshire though). Bike prices are spectacular here. Surly frames cost 400$, the basic Specialized Allez costs $800.

But Campagnolo and other euro parts are expensive, so much so that a lot of people order them from probikekit! If you rang ahead, you could probably pick up a Cannondale Caad8 frameset for around 500$. Or if cheap is your priority, there are a number of crazy cheap online dealers who you could get to ship to your hotel...

    Hi there.

Have a word with R&A - I've used them in the past, and the import duty might work out wuite a bit cheaper than you might think. ;-)

    Cheers, Andy
  • NYC Velo helped me out when I was over there - 2nd Ave between 3rd & 4th Streets if I remember rightly.
An MTBer, but with skinny wheel tendencies...
