Hi All,
First post here but have been reading for a few weeks now and i am none the wiser.
I have just gotten back into MTB and am currently riding a Claud Butler Timbertrail XTC which i have upgraded the brakes to Avid SD 7 and Shifters to SRAM attacks.
I weigh in at around 90kg and am about 5ft 10inch tall.
My riding consists of:
Weeknight blasts mainly on road/cycletracks
Weekend XC over mild terrain
Visits to trail centres (chopwell, kielder, glentress) where we mainly ride red routes with the occasional easy black.
My budget id fairly limited and i would be willing to spend say £600 - £700 including the sale of my bike above (Whats it Worth ? )
I have always ridden hardtail so would probably look for another.
So far my shorlist reads
07 Specialized Hardrock Pro
Specialized Rockhopper
Boardman Comp
Any others you think i shoud consider and any comments on my shortlist so far.
Thanks In Advance
Kev

This topic should give you a few more options to have a look at

I'd also have a look at Merlincycles.co.uk and their Malt range, the Malt 4 is a superb bike.0 -
Thanks,
I had read the above topic but stil would like more opinions.
The Malt 4 seems a nice bike but slightly out of my price range.
What do people think i could fetch for the Claud Butler ?0 -
the malts 1 and 2 are also fantastic bikes, especially for the money, and you can fiddle with the spec you want/can afford0
