Im looking for a light weight hardtail and have been looking at marin indian fire trail or a similar spec/priced cannondale, had thought about carbon fibre, but been advised to avoid, due to frames denting/breaking easy if hit by a stone or something?

While looking around I keep seeing 7005 or 6061 etc when linked with aluminion frame, I assume it something to do with grades, but im not sure, what does it mean and does it make a difference in ride/handling/price?

cheers

i know looks arent eveything, but does it ride as good as it looks?
  • Yep, it's a dream to ride, very responsive and light - some say it's too light and twitchy but if you're proficient on a hardtail it's a beauty! Plus it looks good too (I am a tart)

very very very light frame - mine's not stock but straight out of the box they are great!

Try to arrange a test drive on one, you won't be dissapointed! :D
