hello guys looking at getting some new brakes (203mm rotors) and thought i'd look at hope for a bit of home grown stuff... really for all mountain thrashing - the bike does most stuff from a fair amount of distance to some fairly heavy DH runs. whats everyone reckon on the V2's? heard they're a bitch to set up but hey! im a student. i've already got too much free time

I really want some avid codes although I love hopes and the v2's are tasty. Thats all the help i can give sorry0

avid codes are ok but the pads wear stupid quick.
the v2's are the nuts.easy as pie to set up and can stop my demo9 on a dime! 8)0 -
v2's are a bit overkill for all-mountain, you want some hope m4's really, or even mini'sBest quote ever (pinkbike): "i've heard that Hill pees, deffecates, vomits and masturbates before each race to keep the weight down"0

Are Hope's as good as everyone seems to say? I just wonder that's all.
'Hope' I haven't upset the devotee's in even doubting the brand's superiority0 -
Avid Juicy 7's
I just came back from Whistler, Canada, using my 2 year old Juicy 7s (203mm rotors front and rear, Straitline levers)
35 minute downhill runs from Garbanzo into the bike park, 0% issues with the brakes despite very hot weather and then 2 days of heavy rain and freezing cold weather...[/b]check out my riding - www.robcole.co.uk Banshee Factory Team rider, Da Kine UK Team rider, www.freeborn.co.uk www.eshershore.com0 -
My Hope M4's have been superb, performed very well all over Scotland; Ft Bill, Ae, Inners, Mabie, Glentress and Laggan. No problems whatsoever.0

Had Hope M4's on previous bike and they were very good, now got V2's with vented rotors and now have to attend the hospital due to detatched retinas, awesome brakes. Also love the 'tinging' sound as the brakes cool after a lot of use0
