hey all

i was thinking off getting some new knee/shin pads. firstly i was wondering what i should get. i ride quite a bit of 4X and some freeride so i want some good protection but i also want to be able to ride quickly, so should i get just knee pads like the veggie knee or mabye full knee shin. which moves quickly, btw i ride a kona stuff

thanks all

Adam

I cam off my bike last weekend after landing a jupm awkwardly and had to launch myself over the handlebars to avoid getting tangled up with the bike. I ended up sctratching my shins on various bits and bobs on the handlebars!

So, when I got home, I ordered these:

They don't seem to be limiting at all, and reasonably comfortable. You can get smaller cheaper models too.

    Cannondale Slice Aero
  • If your doing 4x or freeride I would say you need full knee and shin pads. I always wear just knee pads but I'm a bit of a jeyboy so would wear knee and shin pads for hardcore stuff.

Have a look at the BRand-X knee/shin combos on CRC, I havn't had any problems with mine in the last 6 months, and they've saved my legs/knees many times

Big thumbs up for the brand -x also

I have seen my mates suffer at the hands of raceface and 661 pads in warm weather..i am a big bastard and I wear them all of the time and i dont even notice them..they are half the price of some of the other brands and they are as good if not better.
I wish they did a bigger arm/wrist pad but the knee shin pads are spot on...

depends how you feel riding, if you dont feel like your legs are safe with just knees then run full leg armour if you feel ok with knees and dont constantly dig chunks out of them with your pedals then get knees.

Knee pads, I would reccomend kyle strait pads, the most comfortable pads ive ever worn, I even wore them on xc, well not xc downs thats why I was wearing them but I didnt notice them atall climing.

shins, theres ither the padlock set up or troy lee combats
