Hi

I've just bought a new isis bottom bracket (gigapipe, just a cheap one to get me by until I get an external jobby) I've fitted it, its all nice and tight as are my cranks and my pedals are only a few weeks old, but for some strange reason it creaks and I've no idea why any ideas? I'm sorry theres not much to go on here so if anyone fancies a stab in the dark then that would be awesome :)

I have a 7 year old orange ms isle with 2 year old race face turbine cranks (isis) and I'm don't do any jumping and I do some DH every now and again.

Have a look on park tools, great article on how to solve creaks. can be one of a number of things, its a process of elimination.
  • yeh i got an isis bb and it used to creak a bit sometimes - unless it was my cranks but i tightened everything up - especially my cranks and then the creaks went
Hardtails aren't called hardcore for no reason

I'm having the same problem with my Gigapipe BB, my bike is 3 months old, and has developed a creak/click when i'm out of the saddle pedalling hard.

have removed cranks and pedals and re-greased and tightened the various threads, spindles and bolts but its still doing it. Got the necessary Park BB tool so am going to try and remove it and regrease everything, and then re-tighten and hope thats it, if not I guess I'll be taking it to the LBS for them to have a look!
