New pads rubbing.

Hi,
Just put a new set of A2Z sintered rear pads on my new stumpy which uses Avid Juicy 7, the pads are now rubbing on both sides of the rotor. How do i open the pads wider so they don't rub? Or do i have to wait for the pads to wear down? They are rubbing enough to slow the wheel quite quickly when spun by hand. Surely this can't be right or are the new pads a little on the big/wide side?

Help please

Regards

Neil

Sounds like you need to reset the pistons, remove the pads & use something like a plastic tyre lever (or something that won't damage the pistons) to push the pistons back.

    Hi Andy,

Did try pushing them back apart initially before trying to get the new pads in. They seemed to want to spring back together once i had removed the screwdriver blade which made getting the pads in quite difficult. Do i need to push them back even further apart and then they will stay apart?

    Regards
