I'm have real bother getting the crown race from my cane creek headset onto my 07 Float RLC's

The forks are wider on the steerer at the bottom, and this makes getting the crown race on almost impossible.

Is this a known problem, or am I just not putting enough oomph into it??

I've never had to resort to going to the LBS and using a proper tool on any of my other forks, should I admit defeat or give it more welly ??

it is the crown race you're putting on and not the top cap isnt it?. tube slightly bigger than the steerer tube to knock it in evenly should do the trick.

A decent sized flat headed screwdriver and a hammer does the trick. Works for both getting in on and off forks!
