hi
can anyone please recommend what they use to wipe clean the internal lower fork tubes out with, once something like isopropyl has been applied
is there something that is specialy made for the job or is there anything commercially available ?
also,is disc brake cleaner safe to use on the internals instead of IPA
thanks

With all internals removed, I did this:

Used a mild degreaser, rinsed thoroughly, and dried thoroughly. Note the corrosion on the fork brace from road salt.0 -

ATG use a further diluted solution of Fenwicks FS 10 when training mechanics on fork servicing, followed by a wipe out with a rag pushed in from the top, then back out from the bottom with a length of dowel rod or fibre glass. I use an old golf club shaft at home. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.0

It's not how you do it, it's how well you do it. It seems to have worked well for you, so it's all good. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.0
