not on a bike...........
walked the majority of it (went up the peak to the left hand side of the valley. Its a stunning place and i reccomend you go
buti can't offer much guidence on the cycling itself!, you'd be going up for two weeks probably then down for abut 3 days
Base camp is supposed to be a bit of a shithole but everywhere else is specialWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I've been to base camp from the Nepalese side (Kumbu valley), all of which is stunning and not at all like some reports would have you believe. It is not really possible to cycle this route, and you'll find that cycle versions do it from the Tibetan side. I've not seen it from the Tibetan side (it's a different "Everest Base Camp"), but from pictures and as featured on Palin's "Himalya" it looks like a rather boring massive plain. Nevertheless, I bet it would be a terrific adventure and the experience of a lifetime. Learn as much as you can about altitude sickness before you go, and allow for the possiblity that despite your good heatlh and fitness you may not be able to make it all the way.0
