Cycle Gran Canaria is a cycle sports company started by 4 years ago and has evolved into the only year round on site cycle holiday company in the Canaries, specifically Gran Canaria.

there is a new Magaazine doing the rounds here in Ireland called Freewheeling.
Currently its free in the cyclesuperstore.ie - if you emailed them and offered to pay postage they might oblige you by sending a copy. Anyway - its got a few pages about that a ride over 100K that took in that climb and the chap reckons its 23% for long strecthes - he was also impressed with the way he was treated by the hire shop staff and quality of bike.
Also mentioned the traffic was civilised towards cyclists. i've cycled a lot in the Canaries
but never on gran canaria - going to sort that out in October this year.
  • My wife and I went to Gran Caneria a year ago. The coast roads are a nightmere of buses and cars. However, if you start in Maspalomas and head inland up a challanging climb to the centre of the island and base yourself in one of the very nice hotels up there in the small towns and villages it can be very nice.

good luck and let us know how you got on.
