Fury owners out there

I seem to be going around in circles I think I find the bike for me and then someone throws in a curve ball!
This particular curve ball being the Carrera Fury!!
I'd like to hear any of Fury owners experineces , good and bad obviously.
The spec of the components seems great for the price, better fork set than the Rockhopper I'd been looking at. My closest Halfords (Halfords is a bit of a concern) is a bit of a trek and before I head off there I'd like to hear from people that actually have one.
Thanks!!

It seems a great bike to me. Comfortable, good value and looks great. Mine came set up well (at least it's not developed any problems over the 100 miles I've done so far.)
Basically I think your only problem is going to be the quality of the Halfords mechanic who puts it together.
With that in mind I've pretty much decided I'm going to build a toolkit and learn to do all maintenance myself rather than take it back to the shop for servicing.0 -
Nice bike for the money and yes the Tora 318 is the next one up from the one on this years RH, For £500 you get a good bike...have a look at mine in my sig, just get a multi tool and buy the Zinn book and learn yourself....its the best way....but you cant go wrong with it.....0

Thanks DCP, nice pic's, is your standard or have you changed anything?0

Yeah i love my Fury, I have had no problems with it at all so far.
I think that with the Halfords thing, if you are unsure about the staff then either take it home boxed or as to watch them put it together. Just say you are curious or want to learn blah blah. This should make sure that they are following the correct procedures for a PDI.
As mentioned the Tora 318 forks are great and the other components and frame are not too bad either.
BikeRadar also have a review of the Fury right HERE山地车 - Fury 070 -
I'd recommend the Fury to anyone looking in the £500 bracket.
Decent frame, good parts, great brakes.
Jobs a good'en
Just (as mentioned in other threads) make sure you check everything is tight after picking-up from Halfords!!!!! Then check again!!!! (plus u might wanna make sure the bars are straight!!! Mine were, only slightly off line  )0 -
Best £500 i ever spent.
Great component set, superb fork.
As others have said, just give the bike a good check over after you get it, check all the bolts, crank arms and the wheels for trueness, its also worth stripping the tyres and tubes off just to make sure the rim tape is covering the spoke countersinks (see below)
I've been riding mine everyday for a couple of months now, apart from one puncture due to a poorly fitted rim tape, i've had no problems whatsoever.
Mine is in my sig, as standard, all that's different now is a set of road tyres.Cycle tracks will abound in Utopia. ~H.G. Wells

Just changed the Tyres thats all, but just check everything is tight, my crank was loose when i got mine home, get yourself a multi tool and put park tool in your favourites and you wont go wrong.....0 -
The saga continues, I've just been down to Halfords to check out the Fury and the helpful assistant suggested I take a look at the Boardman. Better spec than the Fury, granted the entry level Boardman is £100 more but you seem to get a lot more bike. The problem is I don't know anyone that's got or even tried a Boardman, I have to admit I was quite tempted to go for one there and then but common sense prevailed. I thought I'd ask for assistance/advice before parting with £550.00 plus a Kellogs voucher!0

I am another Fury owner ( and apart from me not being too impressed with the Halfords store I got it from) I think it's a great bike.
I had looked at others makes at my LBS but I wasn't too impressed with them either.
I went with the Fury cos I got a nice discount plus accessories and it had a great review in July's WMTB. There is another LBS that I use and it is very good with knowledgable staff on hand. Any probs I take it there.
Been on a few rides and it's a great bike. My mate who has a GT was quite impressed with it.

Thanks for everyones input!!
I ended up going for the Boardman - Comp, the spec was great for the price and although the Fury was a nice looking bike for the money the Boardman seemed to be worth that little bit extra.
Take a look @ www.boardmanbikes.com
The proof is in the pudding so they say and I've had to take a bit of a punt on it as there wasn't many reviews, watch this space!!!0
