hi all. just bought a gt aggressor xc3, and it has Tektro I0 mechanical disc brakes. when i am riding it, and lean to turn a corner, the front brake makes a grinding noise. i have taken it back to Halfords twice but they seem reluctant to do anything! they keep telling me it is either fork flex or wheel flex (but thats rubbish - non of my friends bikes do it), or the pads need bedding in, but after a month of riding almost everyday, thats unlikely. any help or advice would be great. thanks

    I wouldn't say it's rubbish.

I assume that all of your mates also have identical bikes and kit and that you all run the exact same tyre pressures, you all wear the same clothes and weigh the same?
I'm basically trying to say that each bike is different and little differences in people/ bikes can affect what they do.

Anyway, if the disc isn't centered properly in the brake caliper then it's possible that fork flex could cause the disc to rub. As the disc is secured to the hub then wheel flex shouldn't affect it (although don't quote me on that)

Check your disc is true and that your wheel is secured properly in the dropout.
then check that the disc is centered. If not adjust with shims. See if this helps.
The trail is long and my legs are burning but I can't stop smiling.
