Personally, I think July 2002 has a lot going for it, in the pre-henna era, but this is the look I'm going for:

And it's not widely known that Sheldon once fronted early 70s underground progressive rock band Gentle Giant:

Personaly, I think the 2002 version is the look to go for, if only for the rather dashing head gear. The 2007 flat cap is far too 'Fred Dibnah'.

As for the Henna years, it just looks as if some totally separate living organism has colonised his lower jaw.

Shame about what happened to Sheldon...

I knew he was in poor health....has it got worse? Couldn't see anything on his site about it.

Obviously I have no wish to poke fun at Sheldon when he has been quite seriously unwell, with the result that he he is no longer able to cycle, more details here:

I always turn to his pages first for useful information regarding anything to do with bike maintenance or technical issues, so sorry if this posting has been in poor taste, another foot in mouth job I'm afraid.

My apologies too if my previous post was a bit insensitive.

I have to say that I've frequently used Sheldon's website as a source of very useful maintenence info – particularly given that I'm a complete numpty when it comes to fixing my bike.

Nobody can accuse your posts of being cruel - you weren't to know he was ill and I'm sure everyone realises that like all of us you regard him with due reverence. I hope he's OK.
