To get away from all the drug threads (?) - which race this season have you enjoyed watching most?

For me, I'd have to say Gent-Wevelgem. I must have watched Burghardt and Hammond work over Freire and Ventoso a few times now, and I still can't believe they had the legs to do it.

  • To watch...le tour despite the bollox. To take part in...it is a toss up between the 4th Chevin Cycles TLI race (on Milby) or the YLCA 10 on the V718 ('cos I did a PB like over half the entrants did!)

DL was ruined by the unreal performance of the Astana team for me.

My highlight was seeing Stuey O'Grady harden the fcuk up in the Paris-Roubaix
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

I'd have to say the whole Flanders-GW-Roubaix week. The three races were a treat and having them all in one week was incredible. Whoever says spring classics are boring without rain was sleeping this year.

The latter part of Paris–Roubaix certainly had a heroic quality.

I also liked the Bergamo stage of this year's Giro: a number of team leaders were in breakaways with Di Luca's team forced to chase for a long time, Schleck chasing the peloton after a crash in order to stay in contention on GC, Garzelli hanging on to Simoni's wheels on the final cobbled climb and snatching the win from him in the final metres.

I loved the Giro...it was great to see such stages as the Laveredo...the Briancon finish with Di Luca and Simoni racing to the line had me off my seat...superb...and That Zoncolan...I really like Gibo taking that...if you looked at his face it was like that stage meant more than anything in his life....

Not just that but for me it showed young Andy Schleck as a great new breed coming through...and also the great domestique Piepoli...he was just great....not so sure about the new Italian stallion who took the Laveredo stage.....reckon Piepoli totaly gifted him that.

Last year the best race for me was the Vuelta....hope its as good this year.

Paris-Nice was a good one. The last stage with Contador attacking on the Col d'Eze and then Rebellin fighting hard and coming sooo close to defending his lead.

Giro for me especially the stage up Zoncolan when the overall was still up for grabs and and the stage into Briancon over the Izoard. Final day of Paris NIce wasnt too bad either.

    cheers

Gasping - but somehow still alive !
  • I loved watching the Giro until it became clear tht Di Luca was doing rather too well. Di Luca winning the Giro totally discredits the race for me.

Paris-Roubaix for me too - there was so much going on.

And for a time-trial, the penultimate day of the Tour was really exciting.
