Sadly I don't think is on British Eurosport or cycling.tv - which is a shame, because stage 5 looks awesome.

Wow... if this is any indication, bookies' odds on Schleck will be 1.5:1 at best.

  • Hi folks.

    Overall: Levi Leipheimer
    Stage 1: Robert Forster
    Stage 2: CSC

Then comes the rough bit, stages 3, 4 and 5 getting progressively harder - this looks like the toughest short tour on the calendar.

    Cheers, Andy

ps I'll take A.Schleck if Levi doesn't start.

The lack of class stage-race riders in this event is truly alarming. To illustrate my point, I even considered picking Tom Danielson. But I decided to take a punt instead:

    GC - Vladimir Efimkin
    Stage 1 - Danilo Napolitano

Sadly I don't think is on British Eurosport or cycling.tv - which is a shame, because stage 5 looks awesome.
I got hold of an analogue satellite system for £30 when everybody started switching over to digital 7 or 8 years ago and have been watching International Eurosport on that free since then.

I can also receive lots of German TV stations including DSF and ARD which often show races that Eurosport doesn't such as the Deutschland Tour which is going to be on ARD. My German isn't fantastic but it's easy to pick out names of riders and teams. You can see time gaps and distances on the on-screen graphics.

If you ask around you can probably get an old analogue dish and box for nothing now. It isn't hard to set one of these systems up if you have someone who is willing to stand up a ladder and move the dish about while you watch the TV and give instructions. Have a look around your neighbourhood until you find a house with a (big old-type) analogue dish and point yours in that direction. This is assuming that the satellite box is pretuned to some of these stations. It takes a bit of faffing about and GOOGLING to tune the box in if you haven't got the original instructions though... :?

Mmmm. Yes, very true. I am surprised(ish) so many people have picked Schleck (Jnr) as when I picked him I was thinking "why not? it'll be a bit different" Just shows how much I know.

And I almost went for Napolitano, but thought "everyone" would pick him - yet another example of my idiocy.
