Carbon seatpost & weighty chappy
I'm considering an upgrade to a new carbon frame bike but am a little concerned at reading or hearing somewhere that some cyclists have to get off their bikes and adjust their saddles every so often because it slowly slides down the seat tube due. I'm a little on the heavier side weighing in in the red corner at 15st. I'm thinking of the new Bianchi 928 in case this makes a difference re build quality and quality of carbon. This is not a "which bike" question.
Anyone have problems with this on their carbon frames seat tube & seat post or is this a thing of the past?

I wouldn't go for a carbon seatpost but that is a purely personal choice - I prefer the Thomson Elite alu post - nearly as light, much stronger and if it does fail, it does so more gently. If you do go for a carbon post, would recommend getting an assembly paste such as Tacx which should prevent those "slidey" moments without the need to be hanging out of the seatpost clamp with a foot-long hex key.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0

I am 92kg and use carbon seatposts without a problem but don't have a Bianchi. Did read somewhere recently that Geoff Thomas' team had this carbon seatpost slipping with their Bianchi's last year before riding the charity TDF ride.0
