hey guys

sorry for the bone question but I'm thinking of these for commuting, training rides on a pretty crappy bike either way so lightweight is not a real issue but it would be good if they could take a small bit of punishment, say the odd pothole when i loose concentration,

Many Thanks

Ribble do Aksiums with free tubes and tyres for c. £90 so I'd go with them myself

Bought something from High on bikes recently and it arrived quickly etc. so they seem ok.

As for the wheels. at that price does it really matter :P Should be fine, I can't see a better option unless you're prepared to spend the extra for Aksiums.

hmm , i nned the cassette and possibly the derailleur for that too though so........

they seem like a good deal, if as is always the case with ebay, they are genuine

even if they can be trued uptheyll be a big improvement on the current hoops

I wouldn’t use a 20 spoke front wheel on a commuting bike, IMO they’re not up to the sort of abuse my commuting bikes get.
For around £100 Spa cycles will build you something to last. A big price hike I know, but probably a lot cheaper in the long run.

The Tiagra wheels do not have a great reputation. Vuelta and Quest (como) also do very cheap wheels. My wife and I have a lot of trouble free miles on our Spa wheels.

I would ask the LBS. Madison do some wheels with Mavic rims, Shimano hubs and dt spokes. Would be a good bet for commuting.
