Been commuting to work for 5 months now and just have noticed that my apparel starting to smell after every ride. Mainly my t shirt. It didn't do that before. But now after every ride my top smells, well of cats pee. I do wash it but it still stinks after i use it. Its one of those Nike Dri-Fit things. Is this normal? It tells me to wash it at 30, maybe i should wash at 40 to kill the bacteria. Any ideas?

Due to the fabric it will smell as bacteria can cling to it, try a Merino base layer from Howies, bacteria can't cling to the fibres like in a man made fabric, I have worn a merino top for a week on a biking/camping holiday & it still didn't smell after the week!

  • chuck some vanish in the wash (remarkable stuff) and then air dry once finished immediately.

Buy a big 1 litre bottle of vinegar and put that in your washing machine minus clothes, put on highest temperature and when finished, run again with nowt in it (powders, vinegar, money) and job done.
