Is it the Hikers, or is it more likely to be 'delboy and rodney from the estate who walk their staffies in the woods on a night and meet up with friends to d a little business' if you know what I mean?

Probably the latter. I hike and I'm not an utter fool.

Strikes me that talking about it as if it's "us n them" is only going to make it really us 'n' them. Chill out. Most walkers are cool too. How do you know it's not local bikers indulging in a spot of malicious localism?

I dont think people would be pleased if it was bikers and as we know thats just a plain stupid statement to even imply!!

Ramblers always smile at me, mind you im 6ft and 18 stone :)

  • Was it on MBUK about people putting nails through planks and then hiding them under the dirt?

    I remember reading it somewhere...

Don't think all this us and them stuff is necessary - some walkers are dead cool - met a group of women walkers in Harewood Park last week while i was walking  They ripped the pee out of me for it! Good banter and they were all in 70's.

Having said that my Mum hates me riding for the same tired old reasos - erosion, noise and lack of courtesy on the trails.

can't imagine that it's walkers who sabotage trails though, should think it's the same dickheads who put stuff across railway lines or set fire to kids play areas.

    Be careful out there!
I hate it when people say David Beckham's stupid...its not like anyone ever says: 'Stephen Hawking - he's s**t at football.' Paul Calf

i cant see it being your local chav idiot these baracades are miles away from any were open moor land your looking at least 3-4 miles pluss.
chavs are to lazy to walk that far and up a hill as well...

its getting worse was up there this morning for a quick 7 miler several more rockwalls
1 or 2 stacks high right across the trail,.. some in blind spots hidden and always on a down hill......
it makes it fun and more of a challenge bunnyhoping or unweighting to get over them.

Have a look at the result of one of these idiotic tw@ts that like to drag stuff across trails!!!

    Ouch!!!

Although today I was lucky I didn't get savaged by all the bl00dy dogs running loose!!!
All you ever hear, and read on signs, is that we MTB'ers have to respect everyone else. WHAT ABOUT RESPECT FOR US!!!!
