Ok....I'm daydreaming about my trip to the Alps the other week.... :roll:
Where would you go if you decided you'd had enough of the where you are?

San Francisco. Best city in the world.
Actually, I really am leaving the country, in December. With a bit of luck. But will just cycle around, rather than live anywhere. Not planning to come back, so does that count as emigrating?<hr>

I lived abroad (Japan) for three years. I recommend leaving the UK - it makes you appreciate it. I would never consider leaving again.
But if I did...the Italian Alps, Bardolino area maybe.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -
North Carolina, for the Blue Ridge Parkway, simply the best piece of cycling road on the planet...

Not quite Vancouver for me, but somewhere close. Maybe Revelstoke or somewhere else in the Rockies - they must be one of the most beautiful parts of the planet! Great people, scenery, wildlife and, of course, cycling.A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject - Churchill0 -
Portland, Oregon -- BKS of the US
Or Berlin, or Oslo, or Madrid, or Nashville
Plenty of places to be honest - but I never seem to go anywhere0 -

Beautiful. Flat (!) They have to have a more sensible attitude to life.
They also do chocolate sprinkles with everything. A major consideration for a womble.Ta - Arabic for moo-cow0 -
Wouldn't consider it - I'm quite happy here!0

Sweden +1 altho i'd be further south, near Malmo as I have some friends near there."I hold it true, what'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost;
Than never to have loved at all."

French Alps, Swiss or Italian lakes (Lugano/Como/Maggiore), Vancouver /W.Canada all rate highly on my scale, but I'd like to look at a few other places as well eg Corsica/Spain. Parts of America are stunning but there are too many cars with drivers that don't understand cyclists.M.Rushton0

New Zealand!
THE greatest,most stunning, laid back country in the world.
One day soon I will return and stay!!0 -
Ah, I like Portugal a lot, but for now.... just holidays :-(
Next holiday....2 weeks :-)0 -
Provence for me - sunshine most of the year, even in the winter.
Beautiful roads, little pressure on the land or on the roads - my ideal.
Plus stunning wine by the barrel, fabulous cheeses, lovely bread, great terrain for mountain biking, and lovely country roads for road riding.
Failing that - Mauritius 8)

+1 for Provence. Not the overcrowded coastal bit (Nice is an oxymoron), but further North towards the Alps.
Oh! the cycling. It's unparalleled.
Oh! the wine, cheese, fresh produce.
Oh! the sunshine.

Chile, for me,
nowhere else like it on earth, and very cheap too.

Greece. If Mrs Donkey can get a job working for the Greek state as a teacher (she's qualified to and has the experience but so are a lot of other Greeks) she'd only work a half day and bring no work home, unlike teaching in england. We'd be down at the beach every weekend six months of the year, riding in the mountains too. Shame my Greek is so bad and I can't get a job there.0

I have, Switzerland four years ago and still ejoying it. On the edge of the Jura mountains for what must be some of the best cycling in Europe. Good roads, cycle paths everywhere, mostly considerate drivers and some how they get rid of all that loose gravel that accumulates on the corners of English country roads. Every time I'm out on my bike I find it hard to believe how fortunate I've been, with the cycling anyway.0

Tonight Matthew!!!! I'm emigrating to Auckland, New Zealand!!!!! well next Wednesday actually!!!!0
