I know all the theory that carbon reduces road buzz etc so was wondering if having a carbon stem/bars/seatpost really makes much difference when compared to similar alu components.

Alu is obviously cheaper and sometimes lighter so what are peoples thoughts.

I've got an aluminium frame and have just recently switched my alu seatpost for ome of the spesh pave carbon seatposts and quite frankly I've found the difference astounding. I now laugh in the face of cobbled streets. Worth noting that the original seatpost was budget so cant compare with high end alu.

Also, nearly all alu frames are fitted with carbon forks to give a more comfortable ride - alu can be quite unforgiving.
