Shimano 10 speed STi's - double or triple??
Quick question, is the left hand lever for the new 10 speed Shimano STi's compatible with both double and triple set ups?? I know you used to have to select one or the other, but have Shimano now gone the way of Campag and gone for the one unit for all jobs approach??

I'm fairly certain that you can use them for either. You get more trimming options if you use a double, if you see what I mean.

If you're worried about being able to get up hills then go for a compact rather than a triple 8)An MTBer, but with skinny wheel tendencies...0

Not worried about getting up the hills - just want to make sure I don't waste my money and buy the wrong levers!!Las Vegas Institute of Sport0

The 105 levers are double and triple-compatible, but the Ultegra levers are not. There's an ST6600 version which is double only, and an ST6603 version which is triple only.0
