Avid Ultimates or Hope Mono minis

Anyone tried both of these brakes sets and got an opinion on what was good or bad about either.

I have a Giant XTC EX and ride XC mostly. I'm upgrading bits as I go and its now the turn of the brakes.

My intention was to always get the Hopes but just as I was about to buy I noticed the Ultimates (they are beautiful) and although in honesty looks do count for me, I'd rather go for the Hopes if they are a better brake.

i have both sets and the avids are by far and away better kit than the hopes

I would have to say the Avids aswell, cant say ive tried the mono minis but the Ultimates are extremely powerful and have a nice feel to them when braking.
