Sorry to start another thread about my cranks, but this is a problem im really unsure of.

If my crank gets tightened as much as physically possible. It still has a bit of a wobble. The crank is brand new so its not bent and the bike is a week old so surely the bottom bracket can be damaged?

any ideas? :?

Do both crank arms move together? Grab them and shake. If so its the BB. If not, the crank arm. Either way, take it back.

If its a square taper crank/bb, make sue you havent overtightened them aswell,45 - 50 Nm max, the more you tighten the crank nuts/bolts past the recommended setting, the bigger the hole in the crank arm gets. Im of average size/build and could easily go past the 45-50Nm setting if i didnt use a torque wrench..ie a normal socket set. Take it to you LBS if you cant get hold of a torque wrench to check the torque
  • thanks for the advice guys but sadly its not a crank problem. The thread of the BB has become warped/damaged, this means whenever you put the crank bolt in, the BB just eats it up. My bolt is compelty bald now.

    New BB for me

New crankbolt too. They don't come with BB's in some cases.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Shouldn't you be taking i back to the shop it came from and getting them to sort it out?
