Following the Rasmussen affair at the Tour it seems that Theo de Rooij is seen as the scapegoat;

    I hate to see the riders be the only ones who take it on the chin when doping offenses surface, but that's a shame. I liked De Rooij. I somehow think we're not getting the full lowdown on the goings-on of this affair.

    The statement's wording is pretty clear I think - he was fired but they've let him go with a bit of dignity.
