Hi All

When replacing or striping out your brake disc pads do you use any sort of high temp grease on the back side of the pads ? I work as a motor mechanic and we always use copper slip anti seize grease on car brakes is this the same for bike brakes ??

Thanks

Rog

As a bike mechanic, I tend to favour silicone grease. It's fairly inert, and doesn't harm sensitive seal compounds on high performance systems. Plus it'll lube the pistons as it migrates into the bore.(there are low viscosity versions available for phenolic pistons, not like the electrical grade stuff which attracts dirt.)
Do you use copper slip on AP or Brembo brakes BTW?
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
