Hi all

I want to replace the Kenda Nevegal, 26 x 2.1 tyres that came with my GT bike but not sure what to replace with i ride mostly single track and woodland riding in plenty of mud :D , and also ride 4 miles to work each day on tarmac. i don't race or take part in any competitions so i am not to worried about the weight but would like the tyre to contain as much punture protection built in as possible , (don't want to put slime in tubes) and dont want semi slicks.

any suggestions from all you experienced riders for a newbie would be appreciated

Many thanks Rog

P.S Glad i found this web site and forum it has been a great help already great work to all involved
:D:D:D

Panaracer Cinders. Tread is knobbly enough to deal with mud, and rolling resistence low enough for it to be pretty good on hard-pack and tarmac. I had Tiogas on mine before the Cinders, and the difference was amazing - especially on the tarmac sections. It's an all-round tyre, and the Kevlar construction should keep out all but the naughtiest of punctures.

i'm running panaracer fire xc oem's here and pretty soon i'll be getting what Coolnick suggested, the oem's are really good as long as i keep the pressures up around 35-40psi so the pro kevlars will be great i think. only one puncture (today) in 400miles too. :)
  • would you be able to afford to sets of tyres. get slicks for the road and knobaly tyres for off road. will save you monday in the long run.

slick: i dont have a clue

off road: high rollers(single ply) pancerre fire xc
