Just come back from a week in the Riviera and seemed to be a great area for cycling. Would like to book something for the winter but not sure of the weather.

Can get hold of the average temperatures etc but doesn't really tell you a lot. Has anyone been to Nice and surrounds and can advise what Dec through to March like for cycling?

It won't freeze. Temperatures vary between 5oC and 20oC but it's more between 12-18oC most days. It can get windy and if you head inland, the temperature drops and it can get much windier. It's sunny most days. For all these reasons, many pro cyclists base themselves there. Another advantage of the winter is that the summer traffic jams vanish.

Fancy staying round Eze I think. Seems v heavy traffic in the winter. Not sure how many of passes closed like Col d'Eze etc. Assume Madone is always rideable.
