My friend has just got hold of either a 03 or 04 Kona Stinky Frame which does not have a rear shock.
What rear shock do you recommend and also what size forks do you lot recommend also. Are RS Bombers too much for a Stinky?

Depends which bomber, and your budgets.

Would be in the region of £300 - £500, closer to the 300.

7" forks are what they are usualy fitted with so look for some that are 170mm. I personally wouldn't go for rock shox because I don't like their feel 888's are much plusher anyway but it's your decision.

As for shocks you want to be looking along the lines of a fox dhx3 with an eye to eye length around 150mm (I think) unless it has the BETD linkages in which case go for 170mm again.

Do you have a photo of the frame so we can confirm the model

03 Stinky's came with 200mm i2i, 50mm stroke shocks giving them 150mm of rear wheel travel.
Bolting 888's to the front ruins the handling, 150mm forks are perfect

2004 Stinky's came with either 6 or 7 inches depending on the model.

Ah right, I thought when I was writing it that the numbers seemed a bit low but I wasn't sure.
