Chamelion Steerer Length ????

I'm putting a new fork on my mates bike this weekend. Thought it would be an easy job, but he slipped into conversation that he's thinking of upgrading the frame to a Santa Cruz Chamelion in a couple of months. I don't want to cut the steerer too short for his future purchase.

Any Santa Cruz owners out there advise me on the steerer length for a medium Chamelion????

Depends on headset and stem as well. Find out the headtube length from SC.
