Hi All .

Just some help needed with these forks please .
I have a GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc with suntour sr x100 forks (which i cant find on the suntour we site).

As i sit on the bike there is a blue lever on the right with lock out written on it, this lever seems to be progressive in locking the forks out, on the left is another dial with a small see through window with a small indicator inside that moves up or down depending on which way you turn it . Now i am trying to set up the so called sag but the dial on the left seems to make no difference at all (is the fork faulty 3 week old bike). If i turn the blue lever on the right marked lockout two clicks towards the lock out position i can get the sag right ! if this is the correct way to adjust this fork, what is the dial on the left for ?.
The details of the fork as listed on the GT web sit are as follows ........SR X-100, 100mm of travel w/. 32mm alum stanchions, magnesium lowers, with lock, preload and hydraulic damping .

Sorry for being dumb but what am i doing wrong ?? bit new to all this stuff so any help would be much appreciated

Many thanks

Roger :D:D

    Any instrcutions with it?!

The left dial is preload, the right dial is lock out. Make sure it is fully unlocked, then use the preload adjuster to set sag. You are aiming for 15-30mm, 25 being around optimum.

So when the the dial is swithced from maximum to minimum, and you stand on the bike, the fork sags to the same spot to the exact millimetre? You need to put a tie wrap around the stanchion and see how much it moves.

Hi Again seems to be a difference if i have the dial wound all the way to the minus direction i seem to have about 30mm sag if the dial is all the way to the plus direction it is about 20mm

    Does this sound correct

Many thanks for all the help

Couldnt be any more correct, thats a perfect range! Set to 25mm for the best response on trails, 20mm for a slightly firmer ride, 30mm for a softer ride.
