Broken Teeth

I keep breaking teeth on my big chainring (Shimano LX 44T). I replaced the big ring a couple of months ago due to a broken tooth, now it has done it again. The other 2 rings are OK. It is used for XC and trail riding and to the best of my knowledge it has not been bashed.
Obviously it is still rideable, but it has destroyed my confidence in the Shimano rings. Cay you recommend another brand (not too pricey) that is still relatively light but will be stronger, and is fully compatible with the LX Hollowtech II cranks ?
Is MIDDLEBURN Hardcoat any good, or should I avoid alloy ?
Thanks
Marv

Middleburn or Blackspire are good alternatives to the big S.0

Thanks SS, is the Middleburn likely to last longer ? Is this a common problem, or just me ?

The newer Shimano chainrings are supposed to be better, but many still report poor lifespans, usually wear due to softness than breaking. Blackspire tend to get the better reviews from what I can see. BETD may do replacements too, and CRC have a big line up. If you are not bothered about weight, try and find a steel one - will live longer than you lol!0
