Does anyone know the oil level for 2005 MX Pro ETA forks? The website calls for 135ml per leg but nowhere near this amount came out when I drained them. Any ideas please?

  • i'll keep my eye on this as I have these forks and need to do the same myself!
  • THere is probably a load of oil stuck in the ETA cartridge, try removng the ETA cartridge then pumping it until you get all the oil out. If you don't do this, and try and add another 135ml, you'll end up over filling the fork, which could potentially lead to trouble getting the full travel out of them.
May well be oil stuck in the pumping rod on the other side.
Other solution is that they have simply leaked the oil out gradually.
Shut up. And ride your bike.

I have the same forks, and I never gained anyway near full travel till I changed the oil level myself.

I filled them to within the (recommended) 55mm from the very top of the threads, and this gave me full travel and they have worked flawlessly ever since!

Oil height shold be 50mm from the top of the stanchion when the fork is fully compressed on the spring side.
ETA volumes differ with fork model. So consult the manual.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
