Marin Attack Trail - metallic noise

Has anyone with a Marin Attack Trail experienced a sort of metallic, knocking sound, particularly when pedalling hard. The bike is only 6 months old and has been doing this pretty much since I bought it. My local workshop can't find the problem.
Anyone else had similar sound. It sounds like its coming from inside the frame.

If the shop can't find a fault, maybe it's just "Marin Music" (as owners like to refer to the creaks and various other noises they emit)
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

The frame on the Marins can act as amplification chambers for small creaks and noises (I know, I have a Mount Vision), BUT it should be easy to get a Mrin to be silent

The sound is obviusly peddle dependant so must originate from the drive chain, I'd guess its bottom bracket, cranks or peddles to start. Take em off, clean em and refit with fresh grease on them all and tighten the bolts to the correct torque. Swap out peddles with another set to rule them out

If that doesnt work then take off the rear cassets and clean, refit

Lastly could easily be the saddle or seat post, make sure the bolts are tight on these, try a little grease

Dont forget to check the hadlebars, stem and headset as well
