Sorrry if this is a stupid question but i bought a cheap pair of RST forks on ebay to fit to my equally cheap 2nd bike. The forks have a 1 inch steerer (is this why they were so cheap?)
is it the headset that dictates what steerer widths are accepted? Most steerers are 1and an eigth i think - have i just wasted my money?

well if your bike is 1 1/8th then there is not much you can do.
there is some reducer cups that you could fit that will allow you to fit a 1" headset to the frame.
But as they are a set of RST's i would not bother. just get some forks to fit."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

|Thanks. only got them to replace suntour ones that came with bike because they bottom out as soon as they roll over anything bigger than a mouse turd.
