I can confirm that the Tour of Britain Sportive will not be taking place for reasons of a financial and route safety nature."Enough with this sunday stroll...let\'s hurt a little."

Has british cycling shot its wodge on the Kent event then? Can't support 2 cyclosportive events in the same year, despite people paying to enter? Or was there a lack of entries?
Seems a shame that the ToB sportive isn't going to run. I enetered the first one (The manchestour) and it wasn't without problems but it was well supported, over a good course.
Never mind, lots of others out there, including this one http://www.ridetheroute.net/ being run in support of the BHF over the midlands stage route.
Edit: british Cycling seem to be promoting the above event on their website, so perhaps all is not lost. http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/si ... elease.asp0 -

Bit of a so-an-so if you don't have a bike bag. How the heck do you get your bike back at the end of the ride?
Does anyone know if its worse than the "Phil n Friends"? I don't know this area at all.
JB2 minute grovels can sometimes be a lot longer..tho' shorter on a lighter bike :-)

Not sure how it compares but according to Bikely there is 1600m of climbing. Having done the second half of it there isn't a lot of flat but others with more experience may like to disagree with that opinion!vivent les baroudeurs0
