So I downlaod a variety of tracks on my MP3. Mix them all up, artists etc so that it doesn't get boring. Go for a long walk. Bugger. The damn thing has decided that it has to group all the tracks by the same artist together. So I end up with say 5 tracks by the same artist following one another. I.e. 5 consecutive tracks by Dylan. 6 consecutive tracks by the Stones etc. Not the way I organised it when attached to the computer. Anybody know why it is doing this? Help I'm bored!

Have you checked your play mode? It might be that you're on sequential play, when you want random. Most MP3s automatically sort files out firstly by artist name, then album title, then song title, which might explain the order of play. the other option is to create a new playlist when you've got the machine plugged into the PC.

if you're using itunes or something like that then it'll group then by whatever sort order you've selected...

as JSWBA said make the playlist and hit the random 'button' and you're good to go

I see Dylan as suiting the open road. Possibly waaaay outside a city.
Some Stone tracks are perfect for city riding but mostly the old stuff. Don't listen to their new stuff!
