*SIGH*
rarely do i bitch about the mag (i enjoy MBUK and WMTB) but this months MBUK is almost a complete copy of WMTB, what the heck were you doing, to busy doing the DVD / videos?
a lot of similar products reviewed even the "in depth" review of a trail centre is the SAME one as WMTB..
i don't mind one or two items the same but this months mags are so similar it's not funny!

Sorry Fozz, but I think you've made a mistake here. In the latest WMB we're covering the Summit trail at Nant yr Arian, and MBUK are covering Coed y Brenin. Inevitably when it comes to featuring trail centres we're bound to end up in similar parts of the UK from time to time. There's many a trail in that there Wales…
Jane @ WMBIs it cider time yet then?0 -
My confusion about the trails sorry.
do see a lot of stuff half reviewed in one mag then the rest in another.
forks, wheels and brakes spring to mind instantly.
also whats with missing some of the shimano kit off the brakes and wheel tests?
there was a lack of Shimano offerings and a majority were aftermarket options.. Shimano have raised the game recently (saints and hone sprint to mind)
i get both mags but i sometimes feel that the "crossover" between the 2 readerships is blur'd0 -
They should do one mag, that covers MTBs and Road bikes. Close down MBUK, WMB etc, and have one massive uber magazine that everyone will love.
Where's the "irony" smilie?Mark0 -
There is some crossover between the readerships of MBUK and WMB, but not enough to make us think we can ignore those who only choose to read one or the other. Some topics (like major product tests and the best routes) are bound to appear in both mags. If they didn't, those who read only one mag would be missing out. When we do repeat subject matter, it's specifically presented in different ways and includes different content so that those who read both mags don't feel cheated. For example, in most of the major product group tests, we fine-tune product content to suit the bulk of the readership, and that differs between MBUK and WMB. We also cross-reference between the mags on those tests for the benefit of those who want more than just what they see on the pages of one mag. You'll often find that other MTB mags are testing the same product as us at the same time of year. This is because many of the most newsworthy products are released, tested and typically bought at certain times of the year.
Fozzy... we missed some Shimano kit (and other kit) from recent tests because we were still waiting for it at the time of writing. We didn't want to write about the old stuff again. We now have most of it and you will see full tests soon... in both mags.

Where were the Shimano XT hub tests???? LOADS of people will opt for XT hubs with Mavic rims as they are available from both CRC and Merlin, but no information on them....0

They wanted to test the new ones, which they didnt have in time, rather than repeat the old ones (but saying that, how many times have Hope been mentioned lately?!)0
