TT Routes in Hertfordshire

Hi, new to cycling on the road after purchasing a Giant SCR2 (great bike, love it)
Looking to do a 10mile TT to act a benchmark for future improvements.
Live in North Herts and was wondering if there were any 'offiical' CC TT routes near where I live.
Confused by the rating scheme as well. (How does it work?) is there a good site that explains?
Currently can do 10 miles in about 27 minutes. Is this any good? Don't think so!
Any advice very welcome.

Try here for starters... http://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/courses.asp?DstID=6
Other parts of that site will explain everything you need to know.
Oh and your time - more than respectable - and you'll be faster with a number on your back too!Still breathing.....0 -
Hemel Hempstead CC have an evening 10 every thursday- Starts at Gt Gaddesden village hall, 7:30 (although this month they'll start getting earlier..). There's still two or three left before the end of the season. You can do one as a "come and try". Verulam CC do theirs on Tuesday's I think, a new, and quite undulating course I believe. Try the websites of other clubs in herts for similar events.
There's a few opens in Herts to come- use the link for CTT above.0
