Hi guys,
Getting into riding again, just starting out and need to get a new bike.
Got 500 squid (could stretch to more if needed).
Want a pretty good all round hardtail, going to be mostly XC stuff but wanna do a bit of downhill too (nothing major).
Anyway I was set on an avalanche 1.0 until i came to this forum now I'm not sure whether to get a Rockrider 8.1 because people have said the spec is very good on them.
GT obviously have a good rep and decathlon are just a sport store, I have one near me so will pop in tonight to check it out.
What would you guys do, and why?
Cheers

Decathlon for specs. Or try and get a discount for the GT (08 models coming soon) as it is a cracking bike (used to have one). Check the boardman range at halfords too, and the carrera fury for your budget.____________________
