Burly(ish) wheels needed - need help

I'm after a set of burly(ish) wheels predominately for hardcore xc - want something a little stonger than usual .... I'm a fan of Halo and was wondering wether the freedom disc or Tornados would be up to scratch...? I saw the Halo Tornado 26" wheelset in gold for 150 quid whihc seemed pretty good value

I won't be doing any huge jumps on them.....

Any comments/suggestions welcome!

the halo combats are a bit excessive for hardcore XC, as a pair they weigh nearly a kg more than alternatives.

Have a look at a build around XT hubs with either mavic719 rims or DT 5.1 rims. Built with good DT spokes.

I cannot give advice on Halo as i have not had any expirience with them.
