Heya Guys 'n' Gals,

For some daft reason, I can't use my old name, so I'm now Kae1, but never mind  .

Anyway, my friend and I are doing the C2C this year, hoping to set out on the 13th of August.
We need to take the train from Crewe (Cheshire) to as close to Whitehaven as we can (start of C2C).

Any ideas?

I'm stuck trying to work out which trains (never really travelled by train much) and how to organise getting the bikes on the train as well (as these are rather crucial to the trip, lol  ).

Cheers, Kae(1) :D

Just checked multimap, and it lists the closest train station to Whitehaven as being errr Whitehaven. http://tinyurl.com/2vcs7m

As for getting there, best thing to do is check out national rail enquiries for the whole route on the time and day you want http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

I've never taken my bike on a train so have no practical experience of it, although there was an article about travelling by train with your bike in this months (or it could've been last months) C+.

    kae1,

Have you tried just logging in with your old name and password, because you don't need to re-register from the C+ forum.
